DURING THIS COVID-19 PERIOD WE ARE TAKING EXTREME SAFETY MEASURES TO INSURE YOUR SAFETY WHILE WE DO THE INSTALLATIONS.
Where can I buy grab bars?
We carry a large inventory of shower, tub, and toilet safety handles and are experienced installers.
HOW CAN I INSTALL ON FIBERGLASS WALLS?
CAN GRAB BARS BE INSTALLED IN FIBERGLASS SHOWER?
YES, using our proprietary system, grab bar installation in fiberglass showers and on tub walls works very well.
HOW CAN I FIND WALL STUDS?
Must you locate wall studs and install on wall studs?
We do not need to install on wall studs.
This allows complete freedom of where the bars will be mounted.
How do you attach to the wall?
We use a wide variety of fasteners depending on the surface.
How many trips do you make to my home?
Usually one trip is all that is needed.
We have dozens of grab bars of various sizes and finishes on our truck.
After you choose the size and finish we can install the same day.
What if my choice is not on your truck?
We can install “loaner bars” for immediate use, order your preference, and exchange at a later date.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash or checks are always welcome.
How soon can you install?
We often install within 24 hours from when you contact us.
What installation guarantee do you offer?
We have a DOUBLE warranty:
1- If you are not delighted with your grab bars we will return within 30 days, remove them, and issue a full refund.
2- We warrant our bars to hold tight as long as you own your home.
Can you install on drywall?
YES, we have hundreds of successful drywall installations.
WHERE SHOULD I PLACE GRAB BARS?
Where are grab handles usually installed?
Common (and possibly the most needed) is a vertical grab bar on the wall near the tub or shower entrance.
A bar across back of tub or shower can be level or often angled to accommodate a user sitting down and standing up from a shower chair.
Dementia patients usually need a third and even a fourth shower grab rail.
Another much needed location is on both sides of the toilet, often on an angle to make sitting down and standing easier.
HOW DO I DRILL TILE WALLS?
Can safety bars be installed on tile?
We drill tile.
We have established methods for installation on any surface; tile, porcelain tile, solid surface walls, fiberglass, Onyx walls, drywall, stone, granite, brick, slate, wood, etc..
Do ADA requirements apply to the home?
All our safety bars meet ADA strength requirements.
ADA grab bar location requirements are for commercial businesses used by the general public.
Where do you buy your grab bars?
We have our own GrabBarHandyman brand of grab bars supplied directly from a United States manufacturer.

What is the material of your grab bars?
Stainless steel to avoid rust.
What finishes, sizes, and options are available?
Thousands of possibilities of sizes and finishes, always with stainless steel core, with brushed stainless steel, chrome, brushed nickel, polished brass, brushed brass, oil rubbed bronze, old world bronze, antique venetian bronze finishes, and, white, and hundreds of colors.
Do you have textured bars?
All our grab bars have texture for better grip and additional safety.
We find nobody wants smooth bars when they know textured bars are available.
What are bar end details?
All our bars have end flanges to cover the screws for a neat appearance.
Plus flanges finished differently than the main bar.
What sizes do you stock?
We have shower bars from 12 inch to 48 inch or longer.
Also custom bars are available for unusual installations.
Do you do more than grab bar installations.
Yes.
We can install hand held shower head on a hose.
And, toilet frames with arm rests.
And toilet risers with handles.
We install barrier free, low threshold showers, tub to shower conversions and walk-in tubs.
And, we do complete bathroom remodeling.

Do you build handicap ramps?
Yes, pressure treated wood handicap ramps with handrails both in garages and on the exterior, sometimes stained.
Our ramps have no nails to back out or loosen, only put together with coated exterior grade screws.
Do you serve locations beyond the greater Triangle area?
Yes, with additional charge for distance travel.
